ThoughtsFromtheMiddleSeat Turns One!

December 27, 2011

My blog is one! I am such a proud parent.

As of today, December 27th, 2011, this blog is one year old.  And they say the first three years are the hardest.  I just wanted to take a moment to thank you, my readers, for your continuing support in this venture.  Blogging is by nature an ego-massaging sport with dubious breadth of readership.  And I appreciate every single one of you that stops by and cares to listen to (and comment on!) the thoughts of this crazy girl for a while.  Seriously.  I feel blessed.*Brushes away a single tear of up-swelled emotion.*  Ahem.

Anyway, to show my appreciation for all of you, I decided that I would let you, lovely readers, weigh in on a future blog topic.  I haven’t done an interview-centric post (such as What is virginity?, Can men and women be friends?, and What is your self destructive tendency?) in a while, and I was wondering if there were any topics in particular that you have dying to ask your peers about.

If there are, please comment below, and I will choose at least one suggestion to interview people about to satisfy curiosity of the world at large.  As always, my interview process will be as scientific as I can make it, will an albeit tiny random sample.

Happy New Years, everyone.  May 2012 treat you well!

Hey Luca, let me (hopefully) get the ball rolling. There are a handful of book titles I absolutely adore (whether or not the actual book was good): Journey to the End of the Night, And Never Said a Word, and finally, Both Ways Is the Only Way I Want It. The first two are canonized, the last, the prompt for my idea to your question, will never be, but for what it’s worth … yes, this idea of ‘having it both ways,’ in short, life is an endless series of dualities and negotiations, far from some zero-sum theoretical game. So, given that give and take, which is that you most wish you really could indeed have both ways? Love or lust, urban or rural, inclusive or exclusive, premier or commonplace, democratic or elitist, short-term or long-term, etc.

    A Very Happy New Year,

Thanks, Justin! I’ll play with the idea; I love the concepts of duality and liminal states- but I need to make the question more concrete for a worthwhile interview session. 🙂
